Jenny Moar
Translator, Norwegian - English
From the Orkney Islands, Scotland. Has lived in Norway since 1994. Jenny has an MA in Scandinavian Studies from the University of Edinburgh, and completed the one-year programme in Translation and English for Special Purposes from the Norwegian School of Economics and Business Administration (NHH). She translates texts in most areas, including accounts, tourism, legal and administrative texts. Experienced language reviewer. With Allegro since 2005.

Elisabeth Fossum
Government Authorised Translator, Norwegian - English
MA in English (specialising in Translation) from the University of Bergen. Completed a course in translation theory (TRANSHF). Completed and passed the JURDIST course on legal translation at the Norwegian School of Economics (NHH). Has worked as a translator since 2005 and became an accredited government authorised translator in 2012. Translates texts in most areas, particularly banking, finance and insurance, including interim and annual reports. With Allegro since 2006.

Silje Gjerde
Government Authorised Translator, Norwegian - English
MA in English and courses in comparative literature, history and gender studies from the University of Bergen. Completed a course in terminology (TERMDIST) at the Norwegian School of Economics in 2010. Has worked as a translator since 2007 and became an accredited government authorised translator since 2013. Translates texts in most fields, particularly the higher education sector. Joined the company in 2010 and is now head of our English department.

Nicola Trier
Government Authorised Translator, Norwegian - English
Master’s degree in human geography (specialisation in environmental and development studies) and bachelor’s degree in environmental science from the University of Bergen (UiB). Comes from London and moved to Norway in 1995. Has worked as a translator since 2014. Translates texts in most subject areas. Extensive experience of translating official studies and reports, particularly in the area of global development and the environment, including white papers. Also specialises in translations in the higher education and research sectors. Experienced language reviewer. Joined the company in 2016.

David Harris
Translator Norwegian - English
David is from Brighton, UK, but has lived in Norway for the past 16 years. He has an MA in Architecture from the Bergen School of Architecture, and a BA in Fine Art from Central Saint Martins College in London. David translates texts in a range of subject areas, including tourism, arts & culture and for the research and higher education sectors. David also does language review. He has experience from translating since 2009 and joined Allegro in 2022.

Douglas Ferguson
Government Authorised Translator between Norwegian and English
Originally from Galashiels in Scotland, he has lived in Norway since 1976. Douglas has an MA in Social Anthropology and wide-ranging work experience. Douglas translates texts from most fields, including accounts, business texts, collective agreements, legal texts, academic texts, tourism and the arts and culture. Experienced language reviewer. With Allegro since 1999. Approved translator for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Efta Court.

Ina Tjugen
Government Authorised Translator and Interpreter between French and Norwegian. Government Authorised Translator, English - Norwegian
Lived in France for ten years. Intermediate French at the University of Bergen and a Master’s degree in translation from ESIT (Paris III). Passed the Language Council of Norway’s proficiency test for public service language consultants (in Norwegian bokmål). Interpreter and translator since 1981. Prefers to translate technical, legal, medical and EU-related texts. Experienced language reviewer. With Allegro since 1996. Approved translator for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Efta Court and the Translation Centre for the Bodies of the EU.

Susan has a cand. philol. degree in Russian from the University of Bergen and a master’s degree in international business relations from Nord University. She has long and varied experience from both the public and private sectors, and has also run her own consultancy business. Susan joined Allegro in 2023.

Grethe Dalland
Account Manager
Grethe has a background in accounting and business economics and has worked in the field of accounting since 1985. She has been Allegro’s financial manager since 2001, with responsibility for budgeting, accounting and invoicing.

Sigrid Svarstad
Marketing and project coordinator
Sigrid has an education in tourism and has 25 years of wide-ranging experience from the travel and tourism industry. She has been with Allegro since March 2009. In addition to project coordination tasks, she works on tenders and sales and marketing activities.

Elin K. Solstrand
Head of Administration
Cand.mag. degree in Information Science, English and Public Administration from the University of Bergen. Has worked in the translation industry since 1989. Manages our coordinators, is responsible for work on tenders and acts as contact person for our subcontractors. Has been with Allegro since 2009.

Kari Helene Berge
Project Coordinator
Kari has a degree in translation from the University of Agder and is also a certified project manager. She has worked as a project coordinator in the translation industry since 1990. She has been with Allegro since 2016. Kari handles projects both for our private and corporate customers.

Fanny Valen
Project Coordinator
Fanny started at Allegro in 2023. She has a master’s degree in Spanish, specialising in translation, from the University of Bergen. She has also completed a course in translation theory (TRANSHF). Fanny has worked as a coordinator in the translation sector since 2017. She coordinates projects for business customers and private clients.
